| slides on BEFORE the crank pulley that acts as a guide for the belt. I'd use a rubber mallet and piece of wood to gently nudge that belt back onto the sprocket before finishing up (ie., put washer on and nudge a bit).... Also -- hard to tell from your picture but did you also install the other large belt guide washer between the crank sprocket and oil pump housing? If you didn't remove the crank sprocket to replace the crank seal then that washer should be there already. I would think your new gasket should be fine too - others here should chime in if there's an issue....
